The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), now known as Cambridge Assessment, has declined to authenticate the West African School Certificate (WASC) result recently issued to President Muhammadu Buhari by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Nigeria.
The attestation of result, which was delivered to Buhari last Friday sparked a fresh controversy with some Nigerians alleging fraud and demanding further proof from Cambridge Assessment, the original body that was in charge of conducting school certificate examinations across West Africa in the 1960s. In a response to one of the requests to authenticate the controversial certificate yesterday, Cambridge said on its website: “We can only confirm or verify results at the direct request of or with the permission of a candidate.
“This is in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations, Data Protection Act 2018 and section 40 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.”
However, the organization confirmed that according to the Regulations for 1961, African Language papers, including those for Hausa were set for the West African School Certificate while examination results were classed in grades by 1 to 9. “1,2,3,4,5 & 6 indicate a Pass with Credit; 7 & 8 indicate a Pass; 9 indicates a Failure. To pass the School Certificate, candidates had to pass examinations in a variety of groups.
It was compulsory to pass English Language, but not Maths, in order to gain the Certificate,,” the examination body said. Cambridge disclosed that a total of 152 candidates sat for the WASC Hausa examination in 1961 and that Hausa language was one of the subjects set in the Northern Region that year. It however failed to confirm if there was any Muhammadu Buhari among the candidates.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari’s Secondary School Certificate has been a subject of controversy since 2015 when it was found missing in the forms he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the purpose of the presidential election. At that time, Buhari had through a sworn affidavit claimed that all his credentials were with the Secretary of the Military Board. Several lawyers filed suits in different courts challenging his claims and seeking his disqualification.
Many of these cases were stalled following several long adjournments where other plaintiffs were forced to withdraw their suits due to intense pressure from forces sympathetic to Buhari.

Federal Government Feeds Pupils With 6 millions Eggs, 594 Cows Weekly – Official
The Special Adviser to the President on National Social Welfare Programme, Maryam Uwais, on Monday said the federal government feeds pupils with 6 million eggs and 594 cows weekly under its Home Grown School feeding programme.
Mrs Uwais disclosed this in Abuja, when she received a delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on a study tour of Nigeria to learn from the social intervention programmes in the country.
She noted that 9 million children are currently being fed under the programme in 26 states as a way of encouraging schools enrolment.
She noted further that the programme had created a value chain in the agricultural sector and had also led to the employment of Nigerians thereby creating a market for agriculture.
“Presently, each child eats at least an egg in a day, adding up to 6.8 million eggs being consumed weekly by children under the programme in just 26 states.
“So, the poultry farmers are now doing so much to provide eggs for the schools because every meal is a balanced diet and every child must have at least one egg.
“We need to slaughter 594 cows every week for the pupils and 83 metric tonnes of fish is consumed weekly in just 26 states and more states are coming on board.
“Farmers are growing and requesting for rice meals now because they are saying I was growing 20 bags but because of the programme, I now provide more so I need a rice mill.’’
Mrs Uwais said that farmers were now calling on the government to support them to engage in mechanised farming.
She added that the programme was helping the agricultural sector, by providing markets while women were also being employed as cooks and they in turn employ others.
“The cooks are employing people to wash and serve in classrooms so imagine a child being fed and the cook is the mother while the father is a farmer that provides the foodstuff,” she said.

The Islamic Movement of Nigeria(IMN) alias Shiites has said that the Nigerian army can not face its members if they have weapons.
PoliticsNGR gathered that during a Press conference on Monday, the group spoke on its recent clash with Soldiers in Abuja.
The leader of the group, Abdullahi Zango, accused the Nigerian army of "fabricating lies cooked up to cover their atrocities". In his words;
“They continue to say that we are armed, this is a blatant lie. If we are armed, Nigeria army cannot face us.
“If we have weapons with us, Nigeria army is too small to face us. With our courage and brevity, with empty hands, they are running away from us talk less of when we have arms.
“They know that we are not armed because they are cowards.”
He disclosed that the group has paid N8 million in hospital bills for 106 Shiites receiving treatment in various hospitals in Abuja.

As well as Ola Aina, Moses is challenging Davide Zappacosta, Pedro Rodríguez, Willian (if he remains) and César Azpilicueta for the right-wing positions in the new season.
The former Crystal Palace man didn’t feature in the Blues friendly against Perth Glory on Monday as he was in England undergoing fitness training, having just reported for pre-season.

Why Baby wipes are a must have for every mom
Baby wipes are wet wipes drenched with solutions from gentle cleansing ingredients to alcohol-based cleaners. The origin of baby wipes most likely came in the mid-1950s as more people were travelling and needed a means to clean up on the spot. Nice-Pak was one of the first companies to produce baby wipes. The first wet-wipe products specifically advertised as baby wipes appeared on the market scene in 1990.Infants are young beings with very sensitive skins that are susceptible to environmental scums if not neatly handled. This has encouraged the need to be cleansed with a soft wet material.
The skin around a baby’s diaper area has more crinkles than other areas, thus, making thorough cleaning difficult. These creases are major reasons why most babies experience at least one case of diaper rash.
To effectively prevent and treat diaper rash, frequent changings and cleansing to remove urine and fecal enzymes from the skin is required as the skin around a baby’s diaper area is often exposed to wetness, urine, and poop.
Baby Wipes can remove irritants around the baby’s “often wet” area and help in restoring the skin's natural, healthy pH balance.
While some parents have argued that water and washcloth are good standard for cleansing, it is important to note that water can't remove oily substances from the skin easily, and water alone doesn't provide pH-defending action. More so, often used washcloths or sponges can create friction against a baby's skin and cause skin impurities.
Causes and Remedy Abdomen pains after s3x
I am a newly married lady who was deflowered by my husband. Even though I don’t have pains during s3x which I enjoy very much, I usually start feeling some abdominal pains about 30 minutes after s3x. I am worried about this and will appreciate your kind advice. _Anonymous (by E Mail)
Pain after s3x can be caused by many reasons. One is connected to ejaculation: Semen contains a molecule called prostaglandin, and if a woman is sensitive to it, its release into the vagina during ejaculation could result in cramping afterward. Another possibility is that the bladder gets irritated from the friction during intercourse; that can also feel like cramps after intercourse. In addition, organs such as the ovaries or the uterus may get jostled or hit during intercourse in a way that potentially leads to pain during or after s3x. Also, the pressure s3x puts on the cervix may cause pain afterward. Ovulating and menstruating women are more likely to experience cramping after s3x. Although s3x is a pleasurable experience, orgasms can also set off contractions that cause cramping in the abdomen. This is why relaxation techniques such as Stretching, yoga, deep breathing, and meditation can sometimes help ease pain. In addition, emptying your bladder before s3x, using a condom to prevent sperms from getting into you as well as trying different s3x positions to know which one will reduce the pain can also help.

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi
has expressed his satisfaction with the choice of Barrister Femi
Kehinde as the candidate of the All Grassroots Alliance (AGA) at the September
Governorship elections in Osun State.
Oba Akanbi said the emergence of Kehinde, a former member of the
House of Representatives, aligned with his campaign for a son of Osun West
Senatorial District as successor to Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
The traditional ruler said his endorsement of the candidate was
also informed by his confidence in the capability and competence of Kehinde,
whose track record in political development of the state is hard to forget by
the electorate.
“I am throwing my weight behind Barrister Kehinde based on the
good name he has long made for himself in public service as former member of
the House of Representatives. I maintain it that it is the turn of Osun West to
produce the next governor and I have no doubt that God will answer my prayer.
Kehinde, who was accompanied to the Iwo palace by the Minority Leader
of Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Ademola Ige, commended the Oluwo for
what he called the monarch’s consistent campaign for one of his subjects
emerging the next governor of the state. He pointed out that Oba Akanbi has
proved beyond reasonable doubt that he was divinely chosen to the throne going
by his disposition and welfarist policies in the town.
“I am particularly very proud to have you as my father
on the throne. My coming is to pay home to you firs after I won the party’s
ticket before open campaign starts. I am here to receive your blessing as a
child who desires to prosper should do. Long shall you reign in peace and good
health,” he said.
The former member of the House of Representatives said
he was in the race to revive the legacies left behind by the duo of the Late
Obafemi Awolowo and Bola Ige during their tenure in the defunct Western region
and old Oyo State respectively. He added that Osun State is still blessed with
enormous natural and human resources to grow beyond the position it currently
occupies among viable states in the country.
“It is a thing of sorrow recalling how our past
leaders failed to consolidate on the progress achieved for us by the Late sage,
Obafemi Awolowo and Bola Ige. The Television station which Bola set up in Iwo
should rank among the best in the world based on the quality of facilities
embedded in it. But where is it today? Successive governments wasted the huge
project,” he said.
